Now, If we can just get rid of the officers who are refuse to stand up to the President or to Sec of Def for that matter, with regards to a multitude of issues.
Just this week there was a service at Fort Hood for the victims of the “terrorist attack”, they finally received Purple Hearts, but only because the Pentagon relented after 5 years of dragging its feet and only because of the Senate (miraculously). After the U.S. Senate passed the Defense Reauthorization bill in December that included a provision reclassifying the Fort Hood attack an act of domestic terrorism rather than non-specific “workplace violence,” it freed the Pentagon’s hand to honor the attack’s wounded veterans.
5 years waiting! Are you kidding me, where is the outrage, where is the cry from Leadership in the Army? Silence- No one dares speak up. Embarrassing, they should be ashamed.
The Pentagon considered it a “Shooting incident” for years the White House called it “Work Place Violence incident”. ABC News reported in 2013 that “Despite extensive evidence that Hasan was in communication with al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki prior to the attack, the military has denied the victims a Purple Heart and has treated the incident as ‘workplace violence’ instead of ‘combat related’ or terrorism,”
Or how the President refuses to call ISIS “Islamic” instead he calls them “violent extremists”? Furthermore he calls them ISIL, which the Pentagon happily goes along with. Anyway I digress.
As I have stated before, the Military has lost True Leaders. Men and Women who stand up for what is right, not just what is right—right now. You can say its just a reflection of the society we live in, and that would be true. When you view it from that lens it makes much more sense.
